Working in partnership with Peel Ports in Liverpool we are recruiting for Skidsteer driver for its busy stevedore operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an Employer of Choice that offers career progression, training opportunities and flexible hours!

Shift pattern / Working hours

(Up to) 12-hour shifts, Days + Nights available dependent on vessel traffic.

Shifts starts are 07:00 for days and 19:00 for nights.

Key Function:

Supervision of loading and unloading cargo and transporting it within the Port of Liverpool and to outside vehicles. 

The work is inside and outside, in all weathers, but also includes work in ships holds and cargo storage areas, which may be hot and cramped.  Where mechanisation is not possible, the work can be physically strenuous.

Total flexibility is required as dock workers are expected too work undefined shifts 365 days per year. 

Responsibilities

• To undertake their role without causing damage to equipment or cargo.
• Supervise the discharge and loading of general cargo ships in a safe and practicable manner.  This can also apply to Bulk operations.
• Liaise with MDHC Berth Manager
• Complete all necessary paperwork
• Report all defects & damages to MDHC supervisor immediately.
• Enforcing MDHC policies as directed by the Berth Manager.
