Bulk Port Operative

Working in partnership with Peel Ports in Liverpool we are recruiting Port Operatives for its busy stevedore operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an Employer of Choice that offers career progression, training opportunities and flexible hours!

Shift pattern / Working hours

(Up to) 12-hour shifts, Days + Nights available dependent on vessel traffic.

Shifts starts are 07:00 for days and 19:00 for nights.

Port Operative roles are an ongoing assignment. Perfect for those requiring ongoing, flexible, full or part-time opportunities.

Job description

• As a Port Operative you will be involved in the movement of cargo on and off of ships at Liverpool docks. Cargo can range from steel stock to bulk ships and animal feed.
• Full training will be given through “on the job” partnering with our experienced training team and through classroom sessions.
• Sticking to clear safety and quality standards to ensure cargo is moved safely and efficiently
• Opportunity to develop –further training available for the right people!
• General housekeeping duties.

The successful candidate:

• Will be flexible to work across days and nights depending on vessel times  
• Either Part Time or Full Time.
• Committed, team player with a keen eye for safety.
• Reliable with good timekeeping.
• Some previous experience as a Port Operative, Warehouse Operative, Labourer or other similar roles would be advantageous but not essential!
• Scope for refreshers for candidates with existing or expired plant licenses.
