Car Driver

Working in partnership with ABP in Southampton we are recruiting Car Drivers for its busy stevedore operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an Employer of Choice that offers career progression, training opportunities and flexible hours!

Shift pattern / Working hours

(Up to) 12-hour shifts, Days + Nights available dependent on vessel traffic.

Most shifts start at either 06:00 or 18:00

Car Driver roles are starting ASAP and is an ongoing assignment. Perfect for those requiring ongoing, flexible, full- or part-time opportunities.

Job description

• 
  

  As a Car Driver you will be responsible for the movement of cars on and off of transport ships at Southampton docks and compound driving duties  

• 
  

  Working as part of a shift to unload and load upwards of 1000 cars a shift.

• 
  

  Sticking to clear safety, quality and driving standards to ensure cargo is moved safely and damage-free

•

The successful candidate:

• 
  

  Will be flexible to work across days and nights depending on vessel times  

• 
  

  Either Part Time or Full Time

• 
  

  Committed, team player with a keen eye for safety and quality.

• 
  

  Reliable with good timekeeping.

• 
  

  A Full UK Driving License holder with no more than 6 points

• 
  

  Some previous experience as a car driver, compound driver, taxi driver, port operative, stevedore would be advantageous but not essential!

• 
  

  Other roles available for candidates such as Lasher(cars & heavy), Tug, MAFI, Crane and FLT drivers etc.
