Port Operative

Working in partnership with Associated British Ports in Immingham we are recruiting Port Operatives for its busy stevedore operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an Employer of Choice that offers career progression, training opportunities and flexible hours!

Shift pattern / Working hours

(Up to) 12-hour shifts, Days + Nights available dependent on vessel traffic.

Shifts starts are usually 06:00 for days and 18:00 for nights.

Start date / Duration

Port Operative roles are starting ASAP and is an ongoing assignment. Perfect for those requiring ongoing, flexible, full or part-time opportunities.

Job description

• 
  

  As a Port Operative you will be involved in the movement of cargo on and off of ships at Immingham docks. Cargo can range from steel stock to bulk ships and containers.

• 
  

  Full training will be given through “on the job” partnering with our experienced training team and through classroom sessions.

• 
  

  Sticking to clear safety and quality standards to ensure cargo is moved safely and efficiently.

• 
  

  Opportunity to develop –further training available for the right people!

• 
  

  General housekeeping duties.

The successful candidate:

• 
  

  Will be flexible to work across days and nights depending on vessel times.  

• 
  

  Either Part Time or Full Time.

• 
  

  Committed, team player with a keen eye for safety.

• 
  

  Reliable, with good timekeeping.

• 
  

  Some previous experience as a Port Operative, Warehouse Operative, Labourer, or other similar roles would be advantageous but not essential!

• 
  

  Scope for refreshers for candidates with existing or expired plant licenses.
