Job Purpose:
To specify, develop, configure, design and implement IT Systems for the business, working alongside the Business Systems Analyst to provide technical solutions in a project environment within time and resource constraints. To align with the Company Strategy of achieving a working environment where waste has been eliminated from all of the daily business activities and coordinating with the IT Manager to ensure that the best solution is achieved.
Principal Accountabilities
- Solve operational IT problems and satisfy business needs by analysing requirements and providing IT system solutions (internal or external).
- Devise ways to add new functionality to improve existing IT systems after studying current practices.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of new systems to ensure best use of the system and its functionality.
- Effectively communicate your recommendations, analysing the potential impact and risks.
- Agree the best way to put recommended changes into place with Management.
- Conduct testing to ensure that the systems work as expected.
- Support staff after the changes to ensure a positive changeover.
- Internal support to existing systems.
- Provide “third line” support on large IT projects.
- Provide “third line” support for the IT Team which will form part of a training and handover process, including adequate documentation and procedural notes to be created for the first and second line support functions.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
- To undertake all other reasonable tasks as requested by Management.
