Terminal Operator

9.17 per hour rising to 11 per hour following a qualifying period

40 Hours per week, on a mixed day and night pattern.

Working in partnership with our international client, we are seeking a terminal operator to on a flexible temporary basis. For their storage facility based in Liverpool

Working with hazardous products and liquids the terminal operator is responsible for the safe collection and delivery of hazardous materials from silo to tanker using specialist equipment, weighbridges and Counter-balance FLT.

Requirements:

If you have experience as a process/shift/production/plant operative in any of the following fields/industries, we would like to hear from you:

  • Oil and Gas Industry
  • Chemicals Industry
  • Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Liquids Processing Industry
  • Packaging Industry
  • Military – in particular RAF or Army fuels experience
  • Water Treatment Plant
  • Inspection Company
  • Storage Industry

The Job Role:

Working as a Terminal Operator you will be based at a site that is responsible for receiving, handling, storing and exporting hazardous chemicals.

  • Operate control systems and monitor storage tank levels
  • Monitor and control terminal operations for the site control room, ensuring all safety and environmental standards are maintained
  • Monitor all operational equipment and report any defects
  • Maintain site security and safety standards and report any deviations from these standards
  • Carry out, as part of a shift based operating team, routine operational activities and checks
  • Carry out routine equipment checks and report faults as required
  • Start/Stop pumps and open/close valves as required for product transfer
  • Monitor jetty operations when ship loading/offloading

Experience Required

As the Terminal Operator you will have the following skills/attributes:

    • Experience of working with bulk chemicals and liquids
    • Sound use of IT
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Good understanding of safety & environmental standards and their impact.
    • Team player
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Willingness to learn and follow detailed instructions
    • Valid Counterbalance FLT Licence
    • COMAH Certificate
